As stated in the title, the new Firefox Quantum update is giving my computer problems. I was running the program Discord and the game Final Fantasy 14 earlier, and as soon as I launched Firefox (it was already updated), these other applications slowed to a halt and hung until crashing. What can be done about this? Is it possible to roll back the update?

Thank You

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

The problem was still there, even in safe mode.

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

If the above is no help, Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

I am the biggest fan of this as it is fresh : Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.
