Most websites open in the same tab on Firefox 57. How do I fix this?

Previously when I clicked on a bookmark icon or link, Firefox opened it in a new tab. To do this, I needed the TabMixPlus add-on, which unfortunately is not compatible with Firefox 57. I can't find any other tab controller that allows me to open each site on a different tab.

hi, it's at least possible to change that for bookmarks: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs. double-click it and change its value to true.

in general you'll also be able to force any link to open in a new tab by middle-clicking it (or holding the crtl-key while clicking).
