Upon search in my browser, the site launches and at times has the Firefox gold bar across the top stating it blocked pup ups, when I click on the bar and select to allow the popups to a known site my Norton advises it blocked an attack by a Fake App Attack. At times I get redirected to another page via ptrr18 or another type of adware. I have already ensured there is no upload that should not be on my computer and run Norton Power Eraser with no found malicious adware.

Malware is known to hide in installers.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Forgot to add;

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.
