Thunderbird 52.5.2 reverts to 52.2.1 at every system restart (Win10)

I updated Thunderbird from 52.2.1 to 52.5.2. I use Lightening (5.4.5.2) which does not work with 52.2.1 but does with 52.5.2. So I am having to update Thunderbird after every daily restart. I have Firefox 57.0.4.

uninstall thunderbird 52.2.1 download 52.5.2 from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/ install fresh download.
