When I open a folder in my bookmark bar, the sites I've saved appear...when I hover my cursor over a site a yellow rectangle appears that displays the web address of the link. Is there a way to get rid of this yellow rectangle? Thank you for your help.

Can you attach a screenshot showing exactly what you're talking about?

Also, just FYI, you should update your Operating System. Mac 10.9 hasn't been updated since 2016. You should at least install 10.11 or preferably 10.12 if your computer supports it (the update is free)

Do you mean the tooltip with title and URL that shows if you hover a bookmark?

Or do you mean the overlink pop-up that shows at the bottom of the Firefox window?
