I just upgraded to Thunderbird 60 and wish to use Google Search as the default search engine. I installed the Google Search for Thunderbird addon, and restarted Thunderbird, but Google Search does not show as choice in the search-engine list. Am I missing a step?

You may also need to change the default search engine. See the second section of this article: Open Search.

Does that work?

If the add-on doesn't work any more, there is an alternate method in this article: Add Search Engine to Open Search.

trying to download the google search addon - says "not compatible with my version - but I always have the most uptodate version - now 60.3.2 - so what's going on? Also can't delete other search engines showing e.g. yahoo etc.

I haven't been using Thunderbird on my current computer, so someone else will need to take a look at it.
