When I open Firefox to access the internet, why are there buttons preselected for me to access websites? How do I get rid of them?

Upon accessing the internet thru Firefox, there are various buttons (or bookmarks?) that automatically pop up. such as Walmart, gas info (Geico), and other sites that I do not want cluttering my screen and which I did not select. How do I get rid of them?

Hi, can have them or nor not, or customize them to what you want. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-new-tab-page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hide-or-display-content-new-tab or set it to the URL you want. Or https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/
