Outgoing server SMTP error "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com for an unknown reason"
We get the message consistently that says
"Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."
We reached out to our tech support who went in remotely and was unable to help because they believe it's on Thunderbird's side. It happens on all our computers that are hooked up to run that way through our Napa Tracs system. It's not a good situation as it is how we invoice our customers! Also it has been downloading old messages, like duplicates and showing them as "new" which they are not.

external SMTP error : 4.7.0 Too many login attempts, please try again later
(ERROR)
Is the latest. I have contacted the Napa Tracs tech support who went in remotely and spent nearly an hour rooting around in there to tell me that the problem is between Gmail and Thunderbird. They told me that since Mozilla pulled away from Thunderbird they have seen issues with the servers talking. Apparently the error message I posted above is saying in layman's terms: "Your computer is sending the incorrect login info, it won't allow it to connect to Gmail so the error is saying too many failed attempts" I'm at a loss how to fix it, and so are the tech support people at Napa Tracs.
Going round and round in ever decreasing circles No credible reponse.
I work for a major international Engineering Consultancy and will probably have to convert to M/S mail and Outlook
so that our IT people can help me
Great pity, as I have used Tbird for years.
