I am using a Vivo Android 9 phone. I have installed the recent Firefox browser, and I tried to create a page shortcut. It did not work. No idea why. Facing the same issue with HUAWEI Mate 20 too. Working fine with Samsung and Nokia (Android 9)

Hi Preethi

The only thing I can think of is that the display environment of that Huawei and Vivo device does not support Android home screen shortcuts.

Hi Preethi

When you long press in the website address bar, do you get the option to add the shortcut to the Android home screen?

Hi Preeti

I recommend that you contact the Huawei or Vivo support team about this issue. They may know of alternative way using their software that you can add a shortcut to the homescreen.

I have the exact same problem, using Motorola One Vision (Android One). I've noticed that pressing the add shortcut menu choice and then minimizing the app results in the buttons for adding automatically or dragging to desktop being visible very briefly. They can't be pressed since the OS is in the process of minimizing Firefox though. So it seems they are being rendered off screen...
