Windows 10 in Tablet mode (Dell 5481 2-in-1 FF V78.0.1) when tap on target box for entry (i.e. search) the touch keyboard pops up like it is supposed to, but then the screen seems to do a refresh and the keyboard disappears. This seems to happen wherever the data entry box is located on the page. Disabled all Add-ons to see if that caused the refresh. Did not help.

Added the separate search box to the task bar, did not help. Brought up DuckDuckGo page for their search box, same thing, did not help. Cannot enter anything on the browser while in Tablet Mode. (Had to go to using the OSK keyboard, not automatic, and place on screen for entry. NOT the same thing)

Note: DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH MICROSOFT EDGE OR GOOGLE CHROME BROWSERS. THE TOUCH KEYBOARD STAYS ACCESSIBLE FOR ENTRY ON BOTH OF THEM, SO IT'S NOT WINDOWS OR HARDWARE.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Appreciate the feedback, but unable to get to Booting in Safe Mode due to BitLocker protection of the Boot Drive. Did try this -- - Disabled ALL Add-ons - Set back to Default Theme

No effect

Then, UNCHECKED the OPtions box for "display Touch Keyboard when appropriate"

No effect.

Just setting up my Tablet Mode so I have access to open the OSK (on-screen keyboard) when I need to enter data. Hopefully some future version will fix this problem.
