firefox is replacing all my adobe acrobat pdf file icons with the firefox icon. Shades of Google/facebook hegemony. How do I fix this and restore my icon landscape.

Hello,

This is not at fault of Firefox, this is at fault of Windows. If you have acrobat installed, go into Windows settings and set the PDF files to open in it by default. That should fix the problem.
