The header bar at the top of the screen has disappeared from Firefox when run from my desktop computer (Image 1), but not when run from my laptop computer (Image 2). With the desktop, the maximize, minimize etc buttons are now on the same toolbar as the File Edit View etc buttons and there is no indication as to what website is being viewed. This problem occurs even when Firefox is run in Troubleshooting mode. Both instantiations are v. 119.0. How can I get the header back on my desktop instantiation?

And while I'm at it: With the current version of Firefox, the bookmarks toolbar is below the list of open websites, whereas several versions ago it was the other way around, which seems much more intuitive. Is there a way to switch them back so that the bookmarks menu is at the top?

Thanks!

Chosen solution

You can toggle the title bar on/off via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window.

Thanks - I missed that option down in the lower left. I assume, since you didn't mention it, that the positions of the Bookmarks toolbar and the open sites "toolbar" can't be switched. Thanks again.

To place the Tab bar below the Navigation Toolbar and the Bookmarks Toolbar, you would have to use CSS code in userChrome.css. More info about userChrome.css/userContent.css in case you are not familiar:

This CSS code gets regularly broken when Firefox updates and then needs an update. Your Troubleshooting Information doesn't show that you are using this file (about:support => LegacyUserStylesheets heading).

Modifying the CSS code, and perhaps after a Firefox update, re-modifying it, sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth. Thanks, though - at least I know what the situation is.
