Having problems with Firefox freezing and crashing, exspecially on facebook.

I have windows 7, on 2 gig Emachine, I keep it clean of viruses and keep the RAM memory clean also I clear cache and history on mozilla. Im a regulare facebook user and I keep getting frozen screens and also on my yahoo mail, so i dont think its facebook causing it. Can you help.
