How does one retrieve history that has been erased-I believe my son is hiding what he is doing on the computer

The last 2 mornings when I get on the computer all of the history is completely gone and the pulldown of recently accessed sites is empty. We have a teenager who may be doing this to hide his late night activities online, but of course he denies it. Is there a way to recoup what has been deleted and/or keep him from doing it again?

Once it has been erased it can not be retrieved, and there is no built-in method to disable the options to stop somebody from clearing the history.

An alternative approach is to use a third-party application that keeps its own log of sites visited, such as the free K9 Web Protection which can also be used to block categories of sites of your choosing.
