I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I use the Downloads folder for all items I download from 'net. It used to keep each one until I chose to delete. After Christmas company left, it would not do that any more, deleting things every day. Is there a setting to keep v.s. delete each item? I am using AVG (not-free), and that is new. Surely it's not the culprit. I know I CAN delete items, pause, etc, but can't find how to do a setting to tell it NOT to delete automatically.

Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember download history"

Also make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the Download History.
