http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/03/01/arizona-house-approves-2-bills-restrict-services-funding-planned-parenthood/ IS IN MY DROPDOWN AS A FAVORITE. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I KNOW TO REMOVE IT, INCLUDING DOUBLE CLICKING THE STAR AND CLICKING: REMOVE THE BOOKMARK. IT'S STILL THERE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST EVERY TIME I START FIREFOX. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET IT GONE?

THANKS

Chosen solution

Hit the Bookmarks button, then "Show all Bookmarks." (or Ctrl-Shift-O)

In this new window, look through all the folders on the left and see if the bookmark in question appears on the right when clicking any of them. Be sure to expand on the left if there is an expansion indicator to get to sub-folders.

If you don't find any or that doesn't work, perhaps your bookmark file or user profile is corrupted.

You can try to cure the bookmark file first. This page should help you with finding the file: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20and%20restoring%20bookmarks?s=bookmarks&as=s#os=linux&browser=fx4

Make a backup as that page indicates, then delete the current one. Restart FF and it will generate a new default bookmark file. You can then try to add back in just the bookmarks you want manually. (this may take time)

If that doesn't work, then try with a new user profile.

This page should help you to create a new one and migrate your settings: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20profiles?s=create+new+user+profile&as=s#os=linux&browser=fx4

p.s. - please turn off CapsLock. It is considered to be shouting and is bad netiquette. It is also harder to read.

Hi samadams,

Your solution worked the first time. Sorry about the caps lock, but I was starting to feel like shouting. Yes, it is bad netiquette.

Thanks!
