See the section on "Configuring update options" at https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Updating+Firefox
That does not explain how to disable updating. i don't want the default setting.
The link I posted shows how to change the settings to either stop Firefox checking for updates, or to set Firefox to ask what to do if an update is found.
Great, i can log in with another identity, something i don't have OR i can go muck around in the program files for FF. Usual ridiculous geeky stuff from Mozulla. no place to just turn it off. So every time an update is coming, if I am lucky i will be notified and i can turn it down. go safari.
As shown in the link I posted, if you de-select the Firefox checkbox in the "Automatically check for updates to:" section, it will not check for updates to Firefox.
I don't see any check box in my 3.6.17 browser. When i click on the updates, it vtakes me to an update to 4.0 All i acn do is take that or leave it.
Of course i still don't see any AUTOMATIC update location. i don't see it in your link. Clear as mud here.
