All the menus at the top are gone, except for the Firefox menu. File, view, bookmarks and the rest are all gone. I've tried using the alt keyboard shortcut, but that hasn't helped. In addition, the browser is basically frozen: I can’t switch between tabs or open a new one. Also, when I right-click, the menu stays open, even after clicking elsewhere (if I right-click it elsewhere, it opens a right-click menu there). I can close a tab via right click, however, which then closes the right click menu. The closing X in the corner is also greyed out.

One more thing: no keyboard shortcuts work. Here's a screenshot of the issue, as well.

Try to repair the disk permissions:

You can also try to rest the Firefox plist file.

Go to "Library > Preferences" and remove the plist file for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

  • User > Library > Preferences > org.mozilla.firefox.plist

Well, removing the plist file didn't work.

Looking over the sys log, it seems like it's a problem with the foxytunes add-on. Digging through the Library files, I moved the folders for foxytunes. That didn't fix it though.

I moved the entire Firefox folder out of my library, and it works, so it's something in my profile that I'll have to track down.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Edit: Having the force quit window open enables access to menus! Was able to start in safe mode -- successfully. Now to track down the problem...
