Firefox 4 has made my computer slower and it freezes. How do I get back to Firefox 3 or fix this

My computer has gotten noticeably slower since upgrading to Firefox 4. It also freezes, sometimes for minutes. Is there a fix or if not, how do I get back to the previous Firefox. I have been with you for years and I'm about to say goodbye.
