I couldn't log this as a suggestion as i am not on V5 and as per my previous question, I don't wish to upgrade.

In versions previous to V4, when you clicked on the back button, you could see a list of previous websites so you could choose where you want to go back to. (if you did go back you could see a similar list under the forward button too)

Please bring this feature back.

Other than that love the new look and feel, great job!!!

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.

Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:

  • Right click on the Back or Forward button
  • Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens

You can look at this extension:

Why on earth would developers think we want to go back a page at a time, d'uh!!! If you have gone to 20 sites on one tab why on earth would you go back page by page - it seems to me such a core user requirement - or am I 'special' lol?!

Please read what cor-el posted. The little "down" arrow was removed, but the forward / back "list" is still there.

You may not like any of the three (3) solutions cor-el provided, but any of them resolve the problem, and should be marked accordingly.

We are users we help you work with what you've got. I'm for the removal myself, as I had been removing it for some time, and yes people should have been told about it, but that is not what we do here. We simply help you find solutions if there is one, there were three solutions, so that was done.

I don't know if you just tossed out 20 sites on a tab but that is an interesting issue because you will only see 15 of them and won't see the starting entry until you break off (remove) the more recent the history by going to another link from one of the items lower down.

Based on pictures I think this extension looks more conventional

Thanks everyone for the replies, I am now using the add on suggested by Cor-el but will also have a look at the latest suggestion as well.
