I've had Firefox for approx a yr w/o problems. Recently, when I click on Firefox icon: Proxy Server is refusing connections. How do I fix? I removed Firefox program & dowloaded again w/ same result. OS = Vista. TY

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

TY, but I'm still having problems. As per Firefox connection settings, I can't launch Firefox...thus I can't access Firefox settings. I tried to Right click Firefox shortcut icon, but Properties doesn't provide settings described. Again TY 4 help.
