It's a bug in Firefox 9. Here's how to fix until we fix it:

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Return.
    • The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. #Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
  2. In the filter section type, image.mem.decodeondraw
  3. Double-click the entry that results to change it's value to "False"

This is a bug in Firefox 9 on Mac OS that will be fixed in a future Firefox release. Ref:

  • Bug 712496 - [Mac] Favicons don't appear in the native menu binding in Firefox 9.0

That is hack, I'd say. There must be a downside to do that I guess.

Anyway, what is the rush Mozilla, no one is pushing for the new releases. What is the point to have the version numbers from 3 to 9 in just one year.

All we want is just a solid browser.

I agree. I'm absolutely fed up with all these new releases. I accept them because the impression is given that your computer might be at risk if you don't upgrade to latest versions, but each time something I've gotten used to/like is changed, there are often bugs and they take up so much room. This year has been the worst. It's a nightmare and it's starting to turn me off this platform. BTW My problem is that Bookmarks has disappeared from the Menu bar. Does the above fix apply to my problem also? Thanks.

h4all, See the Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window article for help adding back a missing Bookmarks toolbar. If that doesn't resolve your problem please start a new thread since this one is solved and you will havw better luck getting help in your own "unsolved" thread.

I'm locking this thread.
