I click on a window to minimize it and it dissapears, how do I get the bar at the bottom to see my minimized windows?

I have Ubuntu and when I click on the minimized button the page disappears. I cannot retrieve it and then when I shut the computer down it says and ALL tabs, I cannot find the tabs to close. I'm missing the bar at the bottom for the minimized windows. How can I retrieve the pages I minimized?

any one know how I can retrieve the windows I minimize? I have ubuntu and when I minimize a window I don't know where it goes. Please help.
