download files not saved
Download files not saved. Click on download and then click on "Save", next the download window opens, but it does not show the download file? I recently downloaded Nero 11 and then removed. I also deleted some software Babylon, Yonno (? some name) in control panel. Using ZoneAlarm 10.1.101 and Firefox 10.0.2 (removed and reinstalled).

Did you check the settings?
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": "Remember download history"
Are the files downloaded and saved?
Your system details list shows that you use an old Firefox 10.02 version that is no longer supported with security updates.
Any particular reason why you haven't update to the current release?
It is important to update to the latest version of Firefox and add-ons to get the latest bug fixes and security updates.
You you want a Firefox 10 version then look at the 10.0.6 ESR version.
Hello Cor-el,
I went to Tools>Options>Privacy and it is checked off as you indicated/noted...
I will check out the URL downloads+windows later this week...
ZoneAlarm will not work with the latest Firefox versions 14 (or earlier ones)... so reverted to an older version of Firefox and ZoneAlarm... and it works! Aside- it is ANNOYING to click on latest version upload for Firefox and then get a screen showing what software is not compatible with that version. So I needed to remove the latest Firefox version and ZoneAlarm.. and re-install both.
No need to use Firefox 10.0.6 ESR because I am a small home user and not a big organization?
Thanks for your help, I will have to make the time this coming week and look into this further.

P.S. The files are still not downloading and saved?
Modified
If the files aren't downloaded then they may have been removed by your security software.

When I use Internet Explorer I can download files!
When I use Firefox I can not. Again, I see the pop up screen and click on Save... then the screen does not show any downloading???
I have to go through the various steps as outlined in the two URL's provide... in the near future.

Hello cor-el,
I believe I have solved my problem and now via Firefox can download files. I spent hours "Disabling" various "Plug-Ins", "Extensions" and ones that said that they were not compatible with my other programs. The AVG related ones I believe caused the problem... as you had mentioned in one of your replies (my security related software).
Thanks again for all your help,
