How do I undo a theme (owls)? I went to Firefox -- there is no Add-On folder. Tried Help-Troubleshooting.

I added the owl theme and I think it is interfering. I cannot easily read the tabs, some screens have no down arrow on scroll bar, no bottom scroll bar, and swipe feature does not work. Clicked on Firefox icon -- no Add-On folder. Tried the Help -- Troubleshooting. Page comes up with all details -- have no clue what to look for. Also in the startup menu I now have Microsoft Silverlight. Is this attached to the theme?

Chosen solution

You can uninstall your current Theme/Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you for your very prompt answer. The owls are gone, cute as they were. Other issues (swipe and scroll bars) still not working, but perhaps they were not related. Maybe a restart will help. You made my day!

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
