While reading a web page and I come to a Link - I right click the link and click 'Open Link in New Window'. The second window opens (or starts to) - then about 3 seconds, the first window bounces back up. I have to go to the task bar and click the icon for the second window. Is there a hidden setting to prevent this? So when I open a second window it stays up, till I close it.

Hello,

Default Firefox behaviour should be that when a new window opens from the context menu it stays on top. It may be that an add-on or setting has changed this default behaviour. Please try starting Firefox in Safe Mode to see if this resolves the issue:

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

If the problem does not occur in safe mode then please continue to follow the instructions to troubleshoot and find the setting or add-on that is causing the issue.

If the problem still occurs in safe mode then please see the previous support request here:

It seems that in this case the problem was caused by an issue with the Flash plugin.

You can use the Plugin Checker to see which plugins need an update and update them.

If your Flash plugin is up to date and the issue still occurs try disabling it completely and testing whether that helps. If this solves the problem then you have narrowed the problem down to that.

One of the users in the other thread suggests that Disabling Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 solved his problem so I suggest giving that a try.

I hope that helps. Let us know if any of those tips solve the issue. :)
