In the past three days, I have been overwhelmed by ads which are full screen and block any other view, are extremely difficult to get rid of, keep coming back after closed. Also, huge number of smaller popups and hyper text links which are activated by mouse over and have nothing to do with anything I know of or have interest in. My data allotment is being devoured by ads. My system is about 30 days old, in good shape. What can I do besides cancel my satellite system and eat the penalty cost?

I'd advice you to take a look at your system. It might sound like you have some kind of adware installed on your system. So, run a scan with your virus removal tool of choice. I'd recommend taking at look at Malwarebytes in a combination with one of the more traditional anti virus tools out there.

Second, you might want to install an add-on called "adblock plus". It blocks ads on websites you visit, it even removes the annoying video commercials on YouTube.

hello, this is usually caused by adware on your computer. please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu New Fx Menu > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
