When loading certain pages (on web application) the motion icon starts and after several seconds it changes to the sand clock icon despite the setting described in 'https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1303416' being done - ui.prefersReducedMotion set to 'false'. My work is all done in this web app and it is very important to see when data is being uploaded (grey/black dots) and when the page is supposedly being refreshed with updated data being downloaded (blue/green dots). Why is the preference being ignored and how to fix it so you always get the motion?

I've been having a problem with FF for the last two weeks. At times downloads accessing web sites are slow or even get hung up. Usually reloading or refreshing the page fixes the problem. I tried a FF safe boot and things seemed to work better. I have had the same four extensions for quite awhile. Are there any reports of UBO causing issues?

i can't load certain sites on firefox, it just gives me a blank white screen. there's no error displayed or anything. some sites load fine (gmail, social media, youtube, etc work normal), but some sites i visit give me a blank screen. they load fine in other browsers and even on firefox mobile, just not on firefox desktop.

i've tried deleting the cache for firefox too, but that didn't fix it either. anyone knows what the problem might be?

thanks!

I have been having this problem for about 3 months. FF is UTD. Twitch will glitch, blur, stop playing, stream go black, and get the forever load circle. My browser games will get "Not connected to the server" every few minutes and I have to reload. Facebook will tell me that I'm not connected to the internet. My browser calls glitch. Music streams and podcasts will pause for up to a minute and restart. Emails take forever to load. My computer is only about 2 years old with 16G RAM. I have none of these problems with Chrome. I ran a Twitch stream side by side on FF and Chrome today and glitches on FF while Chrome ran smoothly. When I look in task manager, FF is running anywhere from 30-50%. It shouldn't run that high. Chrome doesn't run that high with the same tabs. What is going on?

Since around the time I updated to Windows 11 version 24H2 (which I severely regret doing, but it's too late to revert), my computer runs very slowly for several seconds whenever Firefox is launched or whenever its window is restored from minimized. It also randomly slows down the computer every minute or two for several seconds. The slow down manifests as a very long lag in cursor movements and typing.

The impact is most severe when I am running other programs at the same time, including Outlook and a rather old version of Quicken, but it can be seen even when there are no other programs running.

This happens even in Firefox troubleshoot mode. This happens even after a refresh. I tried deleting my entire Firefox profile. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it. I tried reinstalling the two previous versions of Firefox. I tried with hardware acceleration off and on. I tried changing every possible video setting I could find. My video drivers are fully up-to-date, as are my Windows updates and my BIOS. Nothing has helped. The same problem even exists with a brand-new installation of Firefox and a brand-new profile!

Notably, I don't see this issue with either Chrome or Edge. And I don't see it when many other programs are running at the same time without FF, even RAM-hungry and CPU-intensive programs like image and video editing programs. This is specifically a FF issue.

Before updating to Win 11 ver 24H2, FF was running on this computer for years without issues. I can't say the problem started exactly when I installed 24H2, but it seems like it was around then. I have another computer still on 23H2 with the same version of Firefox (and the same versions of Outlook and Quicken) that does not have this issue.

My computer is essentially unusable when Firefox and any other major program are running at the same time. I've tried seeing if the CPU or RAM usage spikes during the slowdown, but since the computer nearly (but not quite) freezes when it happens, I haven't been able to catch it live.

Thank you to anyone who might be able to help. I've had to move to Chrome because of this, and I'm not happy about that.

I've been using Firefox for the various iterations of Windows for many years and it's gone smoothly. Now, when I play a YouTube or Instagram video in Windows 11, the video often becomes just an image of pixelated multicolored squares. The sound continues to play normally. On YouTube, the video continues to play. On Instagram the video tends to freeze. I've attached a screenshot from an Instagram video.

I checked my external monitor and it's definitely the laptop, which is less than a year old. This only happens with videos and other browsing works as usual. I have no issue using Chrome, so it seems to be a Firefox thing. I tried clearing the cache and history. When that didn't work, I uninstalled Firefox completely and reinstalled it. Same issue. I've attached a screenshot from an Instagram video. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I'm writing to inform you of something I just encountered that was eery.

I was going thru my Yahoo emails reading Houzz.com articles (clicking through the articles from links on my emails). I'm subscribed to Houzz.com and have thought nothing unusual about receiving their emails.

I found a picture of a house renovation that I liked and used the screenshot button on Firefox. I did this several times, and at some point the tab holding my Yahoo Mail account disappeared so I used the "back" button on FIrefox (aka Alt+LeftArrow) and a website called "Mozilla" (or Firefox?) came up BUT the page was full of Hanzi script. It looked nothing like the Firefox website but used your names in Latin script. I continued to back out until I got to my Yahoo Mail site and then searched for a way to support this.

I included a screenshot of my History from this morning for you to review. I don't need a response, I just want to support Mozilla and this was weird. Suzanne
