Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.235 keeps crashing/failing.
Every time I open any webpage in firefox, IE or even google chrome my Shockwave flash crashes. Especially in firefox. I've tried updating, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing my cache, restarting firefox, going through every shockwave trouble shoot from reseting the shockwave cache to turning off hardware acceleration but none of it fixes the problem. I can't even open my home page without it crashing at least 3 or 4 times. Thank you for your time and help.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

cor-el, you helped me previously. But the fix was short-lived. This issue appears to be totally hopeless. As indicated by my previous posting, I've been assailed by these Flash Player/Shockwave problems since versions 14 & 15 - 14 was a bummer that never was resolved, hence, Adobe's Bulletin with upgrade to v15; once eventually installed, it worked okay for a short time and, then again, another Bulletin and 15 was out and 16.0.0.235 to be installed - v16.0.0.235 plugin reflected as installed but is definitely not working whatsoever.
Consequently, my online experience is horrific (understatement!). The conflicts, stalls, freezes, visuals, and more, are a mess. Adobe is of no assistance whatsoever. I've posted on several top-rated forums, but no forthcoming advice has resolved this issue. Some advice helped to fix some other issues, but not the Flash Player fiasco. I am honestly desperate, as my online experience has become almost intolerable.
Here I am again, a month-or-so+ later, and still suffering with no Shockwave. Plugins indicate installed and marked for always activate. Still, no results. Online, constant Unresponsive Scripts popups, stalls, flips, disabling, extremely slow, obviously corruptive. A virtual nightmare. What is Adobe doing about the last three (3) problems and updates?! Are there any alternatives?
Several days past, suddenly, for no obvious reason, my Bookmarks Toolbar disappeared in clicking to show all bookmarks, the check mark next to Bookmarks Toolbar is gone, and a form appears that reflects bookmarks toolbar folder. Very strange_how could this occur? And, how to fix? A myriad of very important bookmarks are now unavailable to me. Moreover, the star symbol on the right click "save page as" is not working, seemingly in concert with this problem.
As to Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.235, I read online that it would be helpful to shut down Internet Explorer in relation to the Adobe Flash install fiasco. Does Windows work absent IE? Could you please comment on this? P.S. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times AND, another person wrote that closing down IE would work to make other corruptions seen on desktop and elsewhere go away. True?
Please see attached screenshots in reference to above-entitled issues.
I am sincerely desperate. I cannot work my online business; and just perusing, clicking, opening, etc., online, has been and continues to be so genuinely retarded and I feel so completely helpless.
Thanks in advance to one and all.
P.S. All program updates up-to-date. All scans clear, no problems.
For what it is worth, I am having the same problems.
I have had this same problem since a recent upgrade of FF, not sure which one.
These crashes wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't erase the tabs I have open at the time of the crash, giving me no ability to recover my lost session. I have upwards of 20 tabs open at any given time for my work, and it is MADDENING to say the least when this happens.
I'm going to go back to an older version of FF in hopes of clearing up this problem as I don't know what else to do since no lasting fix seems available.
