It used to work, and then it started not opening when I clicked on it, but it would work again after a while. Now it does nothing at all. I've tried restarting my computer already and it didn't help at all. :/

Hi TheEms2, I guess you posted from a phone.

  • Can you confirm is the problem device a desktop PC ?
    • Is that running Windows ?
  • Do you get any error messages ?
    • If so what are they ?

Try

  1. Starting in Firefox's Safe Mode
Holding the Shift key down whilst clicking the icon to start Firefox should achieve that.
See Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
  2. Checking security related software settings, and resetting the Firewall
  3. Try starting in Windows Safe Mode. That is often by using the F8 key when booting (unless Windows 8) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7

It's is a desktop computer. A PowerSpec. I don't get any error messages. I held down the shift key and tried to open it and it still did nothing. Even Internet Explorer wouldn't open.

If you have Internet Explorer &/or other programs also not starting up that looks NOT to be a Firefox issue.

It may be a Windows issue. It may relate to other third party software such as security related software.

It may be any number of other problems.
