Lost my "restore session" tab, is there any way to bring it back from the error log?

Hi - I've had several instances lately where i've lost the old tabs i had open under the "restore session" window and have been unable to find a way to rebuild them without going thru my browser history and opening them back up one by one again.. The most recent time, i accidentally closed the "restore session" tab that had my old history open, and haven't been able to recover it since; a previous time i recovered from a crash and my history had just disappeared.

Is there any way to use the crash reporter logs to re-open my history before the crash? Can i use the error report to open the old session, even though my "restore session" window has somehow been wiped? Where can i find the crash report from, say, an hour ago when all of my tabs were still in the history?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated...in the meantime i'll be trying to rebuild my session one tab at a time...

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s).

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the sessionstore file(s). Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

Nope not only did that not work, it didn't even give me a session to restore after wiping those files :(

There is a folder called "data reporting" in there that looks like it was last modified around the same time as i had that major crash - is there any way that might be usable to recover from?

The data reporting folder doesn't contain useful files.

You will have to check the sessionstore-backups folder to see.

Backup the session files in the sessionstore-backups folder in the Firefox Profile Folder to make sure not to lose possible important session data. Best to do this without closing or restarting Firefox to avoid Firefox overwriting files from a previous session.

You can find these files in the sessionstore-backups folder:

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

You can copy a file from the sessionstore-backups folder to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.js to replace the current file (make a backup copy of the current sessionstore.js).
