Chosen solution

In PB mode no data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and thus you can't recover from a crash that happened in PB mode. That is the risk you take with using PB mode. If you want to make sure to keep links then bookmark then (i.e. click the star) just to be sure, especially if you regularly get crashes. Data stored in cookies will never be retained across a session.
