Stuck with firefox crashing on startup. This started happening after I resized my c:drive with easeUS. No malware detected by webroot. I run the silverlight extension. Can't say what else as I cant even get in in safe mode.

thank you, i looked at acouple of other crash reports similar to yours and all of these users seemed to have trusteer rapport and webroot installed and hooking into firefox, so maybe there is some incompatibility/interference there. could you try disabling or removing one of those security tools and see if the crashes continue?

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. On the keyboard, press [Windows] The image "Windows key" does not exist. + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

God bless you! You are correct! I shut down truster and everything is working fine. I didn't think web root could be the cause because I would expect they had looked at these things. I've been running all of these programs for months and months so I'm not sure why it quit at this moment. And any rate shutting truster off has fixed it. Truster came from my bank who told me that truster would help ensure the security of bank transactions. I'm not sure what the consequences of not using it might be or if I'm exposing myself to any kind of risk. Do you have any information about that?

not really, i think it tries to mitigate some threats from keyloggers and other malicious software - you could also get in contact with their support, as they are usually fairly quick in addressing and fixing such problems: https://www.trusteer.com/support/submit-ticket
