Firefox 48 makes the address and search fields distracting with a black line around them. They look much better as they did in version 45. How can I make this change?

Temporarily until version 50 or so you can user Firefox ESR : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/

Otherwise you can customize the browser with the add on Stylish *https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?src=search

Or there might be a theme that changes the style: appearance url bar search
