Firefox Dev crashes the momet I open it
Firefox developer version crashes the moment I try to open it. I faced similar issue with other (stable) firefox too websense was blocking it, so to over come I added a .dll file named qipcap and it started working fine. But this doesn't help with Developer edition.

hi, are you able to update websense? Old versions of Websense cause startup crashes in Firefox
My websense has been updated and I am on version 8.1 build 2264 however firefox still crashes and ESR is working fine but doesn't support developer edition.
thanks for following up, could you give us another crash report id that was occurring after your websense version was updated to 8.1 build 2264? you can type about:crashes into the firefox address bar to see a list of all your submitted crash reports...
I cannot even open firefox it crashes the moment I click on it to open. I collected crash report while it gets sent automatically
Thanks, i couldn't find an associated crash report by looking at that pastebin info. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- On the keyboard, press [Windows] The image "Windows key" does not exist. + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
- In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
- From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
- Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
- Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
- Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!
oh, i think i found your report: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/b6ef1d41-ab2c-4a8a-9ce4-0469e2161005
qipcap.dll is a websense module, so this program is still interfering. at this point i'm out of ideas on how it's possible to address this problem form the firefox side. you may want to get in contact with your it department to open a support case with websense about this problem :-/
Thank you for your support I will get in touch with websense
It probably would not harm for your IT department to file a Mozilla Firefox bug for this issue relating to ESR even if it is caused by third party software. Also note in previous similar occurrences using a dummy or older flle version may have resolved this issue. See

Thanks jscher2000, websense was it. Creating a qipcap.dll from an existing dll in the firefox directory solves it. An empty dll will throw an error.
