Hello, Thunderbird has been working fine for over a year with my hotmail, as well as several other accounts. For some strange reason that I can't quite fathom, the other day imap.outlook.com no longer works. I believe that it is an authentication issue with thunderbird, anyone else having this problem? I've checked my password ETC, which is correct. Thanks much for any help.

Oops. Sorry. I pasted the wrong instructions in!

Hotmail (Outlook Mail it is called now): Go to https://account.microsoft.com/ and log into your Hotmail/Microsoft Account. Go to "Security & privacy", then "More security settings" under "Account security". Go down to "Two-step verification" to set your App passwords.

Hi, Thanks much for the reply, but unfortunately I don't think this will help as it's a hotmail/outlook account. Thanks again,
