I opened the site information page (clicked on the encircled "i" next to the URL in the location box) and clicked on the arrow, then on More Information. On the next window I clicked on Security. That page asks if I have saved any passwords for the site and gives the answer as "no." Yet clicking on the "Saved Passwords" link shows that there is a password. Why does it show up as no password when there is one?

Are you using any password add-ons/programs?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Sometimes what happens is the web address listed in the Password Manager is different from the current web page. Please check this.

Next time you're on the login page, could you check the address to see whether it has a different "host name"? Firefox may treat these as separate sites for purposes of the Page Info dialog:

www.example.com my.example.com login.example.com account.example.com
