Thunderbird: changed email account from POP to IMAP. Now having " not responding " messages after each input.
changed a gmail account from POP to IMAP. Now having " not responding " messages after each input. I moved the inbox and sent folder contents to the new IMAP account but the messages were still downloaded and the Remove Duplicate Messages plug-in won't find duplicates. I can deal with the duplicates but the responsiveness problem is distressing. Can I do a fresh install and save my messages?

I'm the original poster. At this same time I also added an AOL email account to monitor an employee's business mail. It seemed to be working so I didn't consider that as a potential problem. However, I removed the AOL email account and everything is back to normal. Thunderbird is great.
