New installation cannot change column size

I performed a new installation of Thunderbird Mail ( multiple occurrences, both Beta and Nightly ). After I create an account ( IMAP ) and download the messages I am not able to move or resize the columns. I have Thunderbird installed on multiple machines and have no problems. This system is a new Windows 10 Pro installation.

Smiff, Do you find this is fixed in a newer beta? (it should be)
