send msg problem
I sometmes get this Message: " Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net timed out. Try again." Since I normally have no problem sending I assume all my settings are correct . Is this a TB problem or an ISP problem?

Actually. the problem can last for a couple of days.
Timeouts are often caused by antivirus apps that scan outgoing mail. What is your AV, and is it scanning the TB profile folder?
Good thought. "Avast free". I'll have to do some research. Sending works fine. this morning.
I had the same problem, this site helped my fix it. link text
Unfortunately your link is ten years old and the terms listed no longer exist. Thanks tho...
It still applies, go to settings, troubleshooting, then scroll down & click on "open old settings".
Yes I saw old settings but I didn't see anything related to "redirect settings" or "clear port numbers" or "ignore local communications".
Sorry, I didn't type in the correct steps. When you click "open old settings", then click "troubleshooting", that'll bring up the window where you delete port numbers.
got it. We shall see if that does the trick thanks
