TB 91.4.0 32 bit downloads every message every time it opens. It makes opening or responding to emails impossibly slow. Many times it shows the spinning circle of time and shows "not responding."

What's happening? Why now? How do I fix this?

Settings (not recently changed): General>Account Settings>Synchronization & Storage>Keep Messages For All Accounts On This Computer General>Account Settings>Synchronization & Storage>Synchronize All Messages Locally Regardless of Age Server Settings>Check for new mail on start up Server Settings>Check for new mail every 10 minutes

a) Which AV software do you use? b) Try installing the older version from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/91.3.2/win32/en-US/Thunderbird%20Setup%2091.3.2.exe ... does the problem go away?

The problem wasn't TB related. The other user of this computer had automatic backups running when the computer started...when I was accessing email. I changed the back up schedule and now things aren't overloaded.
