Is logging in to your account via Firefox browser good for anything other than syncing? Can one be logged in to a Firefox browser and not be syncing/synced?
Chosen solution
If you go to about:preferences#sync, you can set the preferences for sync.
To let you know, even if you are not going to use it, in the case that you use a Primary Password to protect your passwords, and turn on login syncing, it will ask you for your Primary Password every time at Firefox startup

Hello,
You can disable sync and log in with a Firefox account.
As far as I have seen, you can log into sites that require a Firefox account (like this one) with one click, instead of directly logging in
How is sync disabled?
