I use Thunderbird on my PC but it links to my business server. When I try to delete email messages using Thunderbird, they do not delete and I get the error message 'TRY CREATE The destination mailbox could not be found. '

I admit that while deleting my trash of lots of messages yesterday I may have inadvertantly deleted entire folders but I have now recreated these (see the image). Any suggestions for why this is occuring?

Lets "start" (hopefully) by getting rid of the duplicate folders you created. (the Drafts and Sent folders with the yellow icons). Generally with IMAP some folders can not be deleted and just waiting a while will see them return if you mess up.

If you can not delete those duplicate folders we may have to remove the account and just start over. But try that first.

Thank you Matt, It turns out that the problem was a setting to define where the messages should be stored, so it is no longer a problem. FYI, the duplicate folders seem to be a function of linking Outlook to multiple access ports through internal vs external-to-server accounts. Multiple files have always been there and do not delete (rather when deleted, just show up again!)... I can live with those... Now onto finding my old email address book and integrating it!
