How to prevent space after period in address bar?

more options

I know this is a feature of Android and/or my keyboard (Gboard), but is it possible to prevent putting a space after a period when typing in the address bar? Otherwise I end up with things like "firefox. com" which gets sent to the search engine. Thanks

Chosen solution

No that's only for double-tapping the space bar.

I found the problem is with Glide typing, I guess. I'm so used to using gestures for typing. Most domains are common enough that they are in the dictionary so glide typing works, but it also automatically inserts a space after the period.

The solution for now, with Gboard, is to not use glide typing, but just manually type out the full domain in the address bar, then no space gets inserted after a period.

Hi

Yes, this is a Gboard issue, but I have found this on the Google support forum that may help:
