It happens not only on Firefox, but on all browsers, I just didn't know where to ask, so I'll ask here. I am unable to log in on few sites. The usernames and passwords are not wrong, I'm pretty sure of that. When I try to log in it just sends me back to the log in page. I checked the support page for Firefox, did everything it said on the page, but still cannot fix this. Chances are that this is not Firefox's fault, but maybe someone knows the answer here.

If you're having issues with the site on other browsers (IE, Chrome) as well, then it's probably problem with the site instead of the browser.

Contact the administrator of the site(s) via e-mail, you'll most likely find your answers there.

There is also security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block cookies, so if it happens with other browsers as well then also check the settings there.

Nope. Just uninstalled AVG, which I meant to do anyway. Disabled firewall. Still cannot log in.

Obviously it's not the site's fault, because it happens on more than one site.

Hello ,

please clear your cache and cookies, by following these steps:

  1. Open the Tools menu at the top of the Firefox window, select Clear recent history
  1. In the Clear recent history window, select Everything from the dropdown list.
  1. Click the arrow next to Details once, then check Cacheand Cookies.
  1. Now, click the Clear now button to clear history.

"I checked the support page for Firefox, did everything it said on the page, but still cannot fix this. "

My fault I didn't mention that I was referring to this page: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cannot+log+in+to+websites?s=cannot+log+in&as=s

Yeah, I did that and everything else in that page.

Still waiting for answer. By the way, could it be something in the hosts file that is causing this?

I got into one of the sites. I didn't do anything, it just logged me in when I went to site. I think it's from my previous attemps to log in. I won't work for the sites, which doesn't log in automatically though.

What you describe sounds like a problem with cookies that are not send to that server. Did you try to delete cookies.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder?

You can try to check the headers with the Live HTTP Headers extension to see if cookies are send.

I did delete that file.

What do I have to look at in the headers to tell that the cookies are sent?

Nevermind, everything just fixed itself.
