Firefox Updates - Release Notes
Hello.
I've been a long-time Firefox user and am currently using Firefox v4.0.1. I just completed the update to 4.0.1 today (April 29, 2011). For a long time now, I've been getting increasingly frustrated over the lack of information provided about new updates. For some reason, the Firefox team doesn't believe in making it EASY to locate release notes for each and EVERY update!
Please help me understand why the release notes - which detail many of the most important changes made in the latest update - aren't one of the FIRST items made available to end-users immediately after installing an update. Why are users taken to more and more "propaganda" about Mozilla - especially with the release of Firefox 4 - instead of being shown important and/or RELEVANT information about the update recently installed?!
For example, as I mentioned at the beginning of my post, I just finished installing the latest update for Firefox 4.0.1. After spending nearly 10 MINUTES looking for the release notes, I gave up. Obviously, that's why I'm posting my frustration about it here.
There's absolutely NO GOOD REASON for not providing EASY ACCESS to the release notes. After installing an update, they should be the FIRST thing end-users read - NOT propaganda about why YOU feel you're the best. Why not PROVE IT - in part by keeping end-users INFORMED as to why changes/updates were made?!
Seriously, doesn't it just sound stupid that - after installing a new update - I'm immediately taken to a page telling me all about the greatness of Firefox 4 YET there's NO information provided (or a link to it) about what was changed/updated (release notes)?!?!
I shouldn't have to waste 10+ minutes of my time searching for this information.
Please - FIX IT NOW!

This is what I have found:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0.1/releasenotes/
I have to google to locate this information.
I agree with you completely and I don't understand the reason why Mozilla removed the link to the release notes which used to be on the Help menu. Here's the link you're looking for: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0.1/releasenotes/ but I had to use Google to find it.
Even so, you're likely to find a much more detailed info by going to one of the well known security sites like Heiss Security @ http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Mozilla-patches-Firefox-and-Thunderbird-1234784.html
Thanks for the update. I am having a problem installing the Firefox 4... maybe it's for the best!
