See:

Try to update your Firefox 3.6.17 version to the latest version via "Help > Check for Updates or Help > About Firefox"

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I really dont' understand, I did update to 7.0.1. I have FF set in my windows FW as an exception. I never had this issue before and am still having it.

I do not get that error, if I disable the Java Quick start in the ext. I only have two, that one and ad block plus.

Plus, edit here, I still find this 7.0.1 very slow. It was GREAT the firs t day, and that was it.

I think it would be GREAT if Mozilla would test these things, before putting them out. I mean, this is a mess. Seems to me, it isn't tested enough.

I am still finding “server not found” “the connection has timed out” and I am updated. I tried to edit, but "server not found" I did check your links and did all of that. No help at all.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few

moments.

I still have the JAVA Quick start disabled, and am now in a a real mess! FF is crashing too. Any thoughts on this? IE works fine.

The Java plugin that you see in "Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" is used to run Java applets.
You only need the Java Console extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) if you want to check and debug Java applets.
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

See:

You can disable the Java Quick Starter extension if you have it.

  • Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions
  • Control Panel -> Java -> Advanced tab -> Miscellaneous -> Java Quick Starter (disable)

I am getting the error even when JAVA Quick start is disabled. Doesn't make any difference

Is the freezing and "SERVER NOT FOUND " normal too? I am not happy at all, and nothing I do is helping here.

After the updating to 7.0.1, it is still slow to load pages and deleting all history, temp int files is not helping one bit..

Sure, I am on dial up, but still it is timing out before I can load a page, It worked GREAT the very first day, and that was it.

I did disable the Java quick start, and no difference.

OK, this is not working at all. Look at this, and tell me this is normal, eh?

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at kb.mozillazine.org.

Step 1: Click Update to update a plugin.

Step 2: Complete all recommended updates before restarting your browser. Plugin Finding Service Error We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later.

I am wondering, if rolling back to an earlier v. of FF would be better. Seems v. 7.1 is full of bugs. Maybe 3.6.23?

more options

Nope, tht didn't help a bit,

Updated to 7.0.1 that dint' help at all, actually got worse. Then went back to 3.6.23, no help there either.
