I have programs that will not work with the drivers in the new version. so i need to keep my old ones so the other application will work.

Update to which version?

The Firefox 4.0+ versions aren't compatible with PPC Macs, but updating to the latest Firefox 3.6.24 version shouldn't have an effect on "drivers".
