MUST remove Claro-search from Mozilla..... have tried many ways..
Have Mozilla as my home page.. tower.. xp and this continues to interrupt Everything.. re-downloaded Firefox, but this Claro continues to reappear.. Other than annoying, I believe it to be intrusive and maybe a threat.. Do you have any suggestions about how to remove it..? I've exhausted all internet 'solutions', none of which work.. When I open the home page.. Mozilla.. I get this Claro Search.. I don't want Claro involved, I trust Mozilla. Many thanks Neal

I was having the same issue with the Claro-Search toolbar and tried many ways to remove it.
Then, in Firefox I went to the Help option, then the Troubleshooting option, and I clicked on Reset Firefox.
This option resets Firefox back to factory settings, and saves your bookmarks.
It was successful for me and did remove the Claro-Search toolbar.

Try this: Click on the top bar type in about:config Go down to the B section Right click and reset anything in the B section that has Claro Search in it

I found a program called adw cleaner in a post on another forum thread. It not only cleaned out Claro, but found a lot of other stuff that was inadvertently installed - apparently when I downloaded other programs. It deleted dozens of files, directories, and registry entries.
That said, be careful what site you download this program from. Some of the download sites install a bunch of junk you don't want. This site was clean: www.tomsguide.com/us/download/AdwCleaner,0301-48079.html.
adw cleaner appears to specialize in removing unwanted toolbars and related junk.

I cannot 'thank you enough for providing the link to the software. I had tried all of the other "fixes" none of them worked. Your solution was simple and very effective.

I had problems uninstalling a program using Windows Control Panel. I found a free program called Revo Uninstaller that did the trick. Besides the uninstaller, it contains several cleaning tools for removing junk files, registry entries, etc. Since I already got rid of Claro Search with adw cleaner, I don't know if this program would also work, but it seemed to me that it might be effective. You can get it at http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html.
