I have two Mac's:

 - an OLD Mac -- OSX10.4.11 | PowerPC G4 | running Eudora v6.2
 - a NEW Mac -- OSX10.8.2 | Intel Core i7 | running Thunderbird 24.4.0

I have tried:

 1. importing "directly" from the OLD machine onto the NEW, but could not get T-bird to recognize
the OLD eudora across the local network
 2. installing T-bird on the OLD machine (so I could import the Eudora there & move the T-bird
     files manually), but...
     a) no version of Eudora can run on OSX10.8.2
     b) newer T-bird versions cannot run on OSX10.4.11
     c) when I tried downloading T-bird 3.1.20 from your FTP site (very slow), the download failed after 3
hours because "some data in the download could not be read or written"

I cannot think of another method to try!

this FTP site ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/3.1/mac/ Note 3.1 not 3.0 it had some nasty issues that are best forgotten.

It is not slow for me, but I have not used in for a week or so.

Alternatively you could install tebfourbird on your older mac. http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/tenfourbird/ but I think an older version will have better import tools. I know the netscape import is gone, I don't know about Eudora.

I understand (I have not used Eudora for about 25 years) that if the files from the Eudora product and moved to the correct location on the new machine (whatever that default is) the import will occur. But that was on Windows, so I really do not know on a mac.
